I've heard the healthcare reform bill is going to cost about $900 billion, but I think that will replace the "medicare" and "health" sections of this budget. I'm not sure if that means the $900b is total spend, or increase, bringing our total healthcare spending to somewhere around $1.5 trillion. I'm hoping the former.
Graphics are informative when discussing incomprehensibly large numbers. Americans spend more on yoga than Russia does on their military. America spends enough on pharmaceuticals to convert the entire world to solar power and other renewable energy sources.
The financial crisis has already cost America's government more than double the cost of The New Deal, the Marshall Plan, China's stimulus package, and the UK, German, and French bailout packages. (Adjusting for today's dollars.)

WHAT Screen. Act. Impact. The NYC-based Media that Matters Film Festival is coming to Minnesota! NEED magazine presents the Media that Matters Film Festival, including a spoken word performance by Poetic Assassins.
WHY This event will bring leaders from nonprofit and community organizations together to screen 12 award-winning short films that represent different social issues. Each organization leader will relate to a certain film and will be available to answer questions and spark conversation. Help us make an impact and hold true to the film festival’s mantra of “Screen. Act. Impact.”

Hewlett-Packard (HP) today announced iPhone-app versions of three classic HP calculators: the HP 12c, HP 12c Platinum, and HP 15C.
I think HP backed up over the shark with this one. Keep everything the same, to the point of using photographs for your interface, including the "menu" button and two function buttons. I'm going to assume the menu even displays on the "LCD" "just like the original!"
"But, but, but!" they may exclaim, "We've added features! Look, it has a vertical layout now! What an improvement, by gosh!"
Imagine what a company like HP could do if they actually tried to innovate instead of replicating technologically-archaic past-successes, by golly.
